Fur Trade Virtual Visit: 

A 26 minute classroom lesson on the fur trade era. 

Based on Third Grade Michigan history curriculum. 


Designed for students grades 2nd through 5th, this video covers the fur trade era in the Upper Peninsula region by focusing on the people who were interacting, trade items, methods of travel and trade. Birch bark canoe building is discussed. The journey of items from Europe to the North Woods in the 1700s is discussed. Contains 140 detailed and colorful pictures, an audio narration, and video to tell this story.
