Permanent CollectionThe permanent collection includes artifacts from the Prehistoric copper culture through contemporary times. Only a fraction of the permanent collection is on display at one time. Ongoing special exhibits allow the museum to highlight different areas of the collection.
Over the years, the community has been so generous with donations, that the museum recently moved to a larger location. The new location is climate controlled and allows for continued collection of artifacts. |
Donating an ItemThe museum’s diverse collection is continuously growing thanks to a supportive community. Items need not be old; we are looking for contemporary as well as antique items, especially when they have a local story connected to them. We also collect artifacts which show our shared culture as Americans and/or residents of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Your donation will be carefully stored in the Museum for generations to come and may be used in exhibits, displays or programs which will educate, entertain and inspire interest in local history and the past. Please contact Curator Jo Wittler by email at [email protected] or call 906-226-3571 to make an appointment to donate items, or if you have any questions. We're happy to come to your home to look at items too numerous or large to bring to the museum. We thank you for considering donating your items to the Marquette Regional History Center. Your donation to the museum is tax deductible. You will receive a signed gift receipt as proof of your donation. Normally, we do not purchase or appraise objects. |
