MRHC Virtual Field Trip - Archaeology
Designed for grades 2-5, this entertaining virtual field trip introduces students to archaeology.
Through this video visit to the Marquette Regional History Center, we focus on archaeology - the study of human history through material evidence.
Grappling with the word "archaeology" itself to begin with, we take it apart and explain it to students. We then dig into the museum gallery to explain the process of archaeology through local artifacts that we have on display.
Accompanying worksheets will further student's learning on the subject through a basic vocabulary word search, seek-and-find coloring sheet, maze, and info sheet for them to complete in class or take home.
If your school group is unable to visit at this time, we hope virtual field trips will help fill that void for your class in the meantime. Thanks for your interest and support!
